Among the edible insects which are attracting attention as food for the future ‘MYEONG-PUM Co., Ltd.’ are raising a brown (ground) beetle, and in 2018 has been launched natural foundation cosmetics using brown beetle’s larva (mealworm).
In Sunchon Natural Pharmaceutical Material Development Research Center and Insect&Sericultural Research Institute of Jeollanamdo Agricultural Research and Extension Services for the first time in Korea was registered brown beetle’s larva’s extract MWF-1(Mealworm Ferment extract) as a cosmetic material in the ICID.
MWF-1 has whitening, wrinkle-improving and moisturizing effects.
