‘Hwayang’ is short for ‘Jo-hwa-yang-ji( 調和釀之)’, which appears in ‘Nae-guk-hyang-on-bup( 內局香醞法)’ of ‘Go-sa-chwal-yo( 攷事撮要)’, an encyclopedia created by Eo Suk-kwon in 1554.
‘Hwayang’ means brewed with harmony. ‘Hwayang’ painstakingly brews with short grain sticky rice, hand-pressed nuruk, and water that has been boiled and cooled. The different kinds of sool made at Hwayang Brewery are balanced and harmonious, never leaning heavily towards a particular taste.
